As Seen On: The SpaWhisperer

Casey Gillespie is the owner and writer of Spa Whisperer, a blog specializing in self-care and wellness - two staples of Slow North’s mission. We were beyond flattered when Casey reached out to us about featuring Slow North on her blog. Again and again, we are encouraged by the reciprocated passions of our peers and look for ways we can support one another. Casey stumbled upon our line at Sage Sisters in San Diego on her quest to find high-quality, dependable candles that also smelled good - and we’re so glad she did! Introducing Our New Copper Collection

We are beyond thrilled to announce our collaboration with Austin-based Sertodo Copper and the release of our Copper Candle Collection! We learned about Sertodo Copper years ago and since that moment, it has been a dream of ours to work with them. The excitement and pride we feel about this long-awaited project is overwhelming, and it has been SO surreal to see this dream come to fruition. With workshops located in both Santa Clara del Cobre, Michoacan Mexico and Austin, Texas, Sertodo Copper is an international cooperative of copper...

We met at a pop-up market at the W Hotel last year, and I’ve admired her work ever since - hoping to find an opportunity to work together. Thankfully, Eliana shared our same vision for these stylishly-minimal match holders, and from there a collaboration was born! Eliana is a talented ceramic designer based out of...

From the Founder: A Look into our First Candle-Making Workshop

Last weekend, we led our first-ever candle-making workshop at the lovely Kettle & Brine here in Austin, TX. While we’ve often talked about hosting an event like this, Kettle & Brine gave us the extra push by scheduling and making it happen, and we couldn’t be happier about it! We had a full house - more than 20 new friends joined us to learn about the candle-making process. Together we explored 14 essential oils, ranging from eucalyptus to lime to rosewood, and everyone experimented with their own custom blends. During our afternoon of scent creativity, I led the group through...

TRIBE Feature | Turning Necessity Into Inspiration

In preparation for the birth of their son, our founders Michelle and Jon Simmons began their search for safe and clean household products. When they realized virtually nothing on the market met their standard for healthy, whole living, Slow North naturally came to life. Launching Slow North on a whim during maternity leave was no easy task; but Michelle exudes the necessary focus and strength to succeed as an entrepreneurial mom. Two years later, this business has become a part of the family, growing alongside the Simmons and bringing unique challenges and triumphs along the way. Read more of the...
