Help Us Make Care Mask Covers for COVID-19
In response to the current circumstances, we are offering our sewing services, machinery, and talent at Slow North to the very important task of making washable mask covers for the doctors, nurses and medical professionals that need these essential items the most to prolong the use of their scarce N95 masks.
Our team has donated 400+ masks in our first two weeks of making them, and as long as there's a need, we'll keep making them (alongside many other volunteers who are coordinating talents around the country) in an effort to do what we can to support those who put themselves at risk for others every day. They will be distributed to medical facilities around Austin (ERs, ICUs, urgent care clinics, etc.). We hope to make the biggest local impact we can with these.
** Please note: These will be used to go OVER the N95s to prolong/protect them, and these covers can be swapped out often and will be sanitized daily. **
THANK YOU for supporting us as we help our medical community the best way we can right now. 100% of the funds received will go towards materials and wages for the seamsters to produce masks.

We are now also offering fabric face masks for personal, voluntary use for purchase here with our Buy 1 - Give 1 model.
While this may help in the interim for these critical times of shortages, this isn't the solution. Please use your voice. Will you sign this urgent petition with National Nurses United to demand that Congress do everything in its power to protect nurses during this crisis with a proper supply of PPE?
About Care Mask Covers: These are reusable covers that will go over the N95s to prolong their use. These covers should be sanitized before use and then sanitized at least daily. It is important to stress that these mask covers are intended to be worn on top of N95 type masks, not to act as a replacement for them. The care mask covers are produced from guides that have been reviewed by individual medical doctors who are very grateful to receive them. They are not FDA-tested or FDA-approved. You must use them at your own risk. Slow North does not provide any guarantees and is not assuming any responsibility for any harm resulting from the use of these mask covers. Slow North does not claim that wearing these masks covers alone will provide protection against infection. We are simply trying to help by making what our medical professional friends are telling us they need.
