Slow North Featured on KXAN Studio 512: All-Natural Gifts and Holiday Candles Made in Austin
Building Slow North over the last decade has been one of the most challenging and meaningful journeys of my life. What started as a small idea rooted in natural living has grown into a community-centered Austin business focused on thoughtfully made, all-natural gifts.
I recently had the opportunity to share more of that story on KXAN Studio 512, highlighting what makes Slow North unique and why we’re so intentional about how and what we create.
Thoughtfully Made, All-Natural Gifts in Austin
During the segment, we talked about why Slow North focuses on all-natural candles and wellness gifts, made with simple ingredients and a lot of care. From essential-oil candles to seasonal and limited-edition collections, everything we create is designed to feel meaningful, not mass-produced.
We also shared a look at our limited-edition holiday candles, which are hand-poured in Austin and available for a short time each season. These candles are created to mark moments, support slower rituals, and make gifting feel more intentional.
Supporting Small Businesses Through the ATX Small Business Passport
Another highlight of the segment was the ATX Small Business Passport, a citywide initiative that encourages shoppers to support independent, locally owned businesses throughout Austin. It’s such a fun and tangible way to explore local shops, discover new favorites, and keep dollars circulating within our community.
Programs like this matter deeply to us because Slow North exists thanks to the continued support of people who choose to shop small and shop local.
