Horizonte Higo - Blanket
This season our new color-ways are inspired by fruits and nuts. We think picnics aren’t complete without delicious fresh snacks. We picked out a few diverse fruits and nuts to inspire our color-ways this Spring.
Figs or Higos in Spanish have a special place in our heart. Growing up, my grandma’s fig tree was my introduction to this magical and fleeting fruit. Their dark blueish purple skin splits when they are ripe enough to eat and exposes their pinkish seedy insides. Bring a picnic to a local fig orchard, hang out on this blanket, and experience this magical fruit for yourself!
Our Horizonte Collection simplifies the intersection of the sky and the earth into three bands of color. Creating a calming collection of colors perfect for inside or out. They are big enough for a 2 - 4 person picnic and roll up in thirds for easy transport. The blankets are designed by us at our home base in San Francisco and hand woven in Mexico by skilled artisans. Our leather straps are hand-made by us out of vegetable tanned leather that ages nicely with use.
Blankets are machine washable on cold gentle cycle, lay flat to dry.

Nipomo was born to celebrate the local craft and traditions of Mexico and California. Born on the border of California and Mexico, we were raised at a cultural crossroads. As a mother and daughter team (Elizabeth and Liz) we collaborate with skilled artisans from our home country of Mexico. Designing a modern product with traditional methods of making allows us to create unique products while preserving a slice of history, art, and craft.
