Sat., May 26th - Natural Silk Dyeing Workshop

Interested in learning how to hand-dye your own silk scarf using all-natural colorants?

Join us at Slow North as Kylee Barnard, founder & designer of Silk Diaries, leads us through the multiple phases of hand-dyeing a truly unique, one-of-a-kind silk scarf!

Each silk is laid flat (or folded), packed with an array natural goodies, rolled tightly with a mordant and steamed for 2-3 hours to set the dye (overnight). You will be able to come back to pick up your scarf the next day to complete the "waiting game" as your scarf finishes setting the dyes.

Examples of natural elements we will use in the dyeing process:

Blackberries, Blueberry, Strawberries, Rose Petals, Madder Root, Osage Orange, Cochineal, Rosemary

Everyone will be gifted a mini soy candle courtesy of Slow North + a 10% in-store shopping discount.

Light bites and Topo Chico provided.

Space is very limited. Claim your spot today!
